Citibank
Excellent site offering internet banking, and new customers can apply online. This is a straightforward banking site with comprehensive information about the services, which include bill payment, bank transfers and downloadable information in Quicken, csv or Microsoft Money formats.
Norwich Union
With a Norwich Union low interest personal loan, 7.9% typical APR, you won’t have to repay a penny for the first three months. Plus you could have a cheque in your hands within 24 hours!
First Direct Bank
Loan Line
Loan Line offer a range of secured loans from £5000 to £75000. They may be able to help those with poor credit history, the self employed, the retired and those with arrears and CCJs.
Life 180 Loans
Secured loans from £5000 to £75000 are available from Life 180 with the option of fixed or variable interest rates.
Smile
Smile is the internet only arm of the Co-op bank. Good news is the interest on your current account on top of the usual online banking services. Also has a no risk policy to safeguard customers against computer crime and mistakes by the bank. Three cheers for the first bit and an "I should hope so, too" for the second.
Nationwide
Nationwide are a well known high street name whose online presence includes a nice demo and some clear information on security issues. Offers online banking, and you can apply for a whole range of services online. The only thing that stopped it scoring five stars is the time it takes to set up your account.
Cahoot
A high street institution, Abbey National, hiding behind a zany name with a swish, flash site that does the business quite nicely for online banking and credit cards. Good interest on current accounts, and tempting interest rates on credit cards. You've seen the ads, now check out the small print.
Barclays
Barclays have a good looking online banking site. The usual services are available - banking, credit cards, insurance etc.

What's this? A high street name with an online bank? Promising to save you money if you bank online? With a snazzy name? And a flash site? Halifax - for it is they - offer an integrated finance package linking mortgage, savings, credit cards and loans. Be sure to check out the figures to make sure you'd be better off before signing up.
MHBS
Clear site from the Market Harborough Building Society. You can apply for savings accounts and mortgages online, and view your mortgage details whenever you're feeling too happy and need bringing down to earth.
Hamilton Direct Bank
Simple, fast and effective site offering unsecured personal loans and credit cards, but not full-blown online banking.
NatWest
Corporate style design from the NatWest online banking service. All the usual services are available.
